hiβ€”i’m serena! and
i’m so glad you’re here.

I’m from New York and live here still. I go by they/them :)

Knitting shares brainspace with stories from Asian diasporas, East Asian garment design, my training in art history, and the work of folks who play & slay with their fashion. I design with natural materials from people of color, womxn, queer maker communities.

My patterns are made for hand-knitters who want to make clothes that are gender-playful, color curious, and that love on their bodies. I want them to function like templates for you to experiment with your own sense of color & patternβ€”and leave you with a sense of ownership of your knitting and skills.

ozuko is a tribute to my yarn inspectors, Ozu (cat) and Kopiko (also cat). As you read this, they are chomping & chasing & napping on & staring at my yarn.
